Waiola Magazine. In Hawaiian, the name Waiola means “The
Water of Life”. In ancient times, the north shore of Kaua‘i was
known for its abundant fresh water (wai) sources. Water was so
important, that the Hawaiian word for wealth or money is waiwai.
